Organic Coco Coir Chips for Plants Coconut Husk Substrate 2Pcs, 2.2lb

About this item

• Compressed Coco Chips for Plants: You will receive 2 compressed coco coir bricks, about 1.1 lb each. Made from 100% natural coconut coir chips and coconut fiber, this organic, degradable, and sustainable growing medium expands to about 7 quarts per brick after soaking. The mixed texture provides chunky pieces for structure and finer fibers for moisture retention. A practical alternative to traditional soil and bark.
• Low EC & pH Balanced Material: The coco chips and coconut fiber substrate are carefully screened, desalted, and rinsed with clean water to help maintain low EC and a balanced pH range of about 5.5–6.5. The low-salt structure helps reduce excess salt buildup, while the suitable pH range helps support root development and water and nutrient absorption, allowing plants to grow stronger and healthier from the roots up. Note: Rinse before use for sensitive plants or terrariums.
• Moisture Retention & Efficient Drainage: Coco husk bricks can hold about 4–6 times their weight in water and release moisture gradually, which may help reduce dryness between watering and support less frequent watering. Chunky coconut chips help create air space for drainage and root-zone airflow, supporting a looser, more breathable soil structure. Use alone or blend with soil, orchid bark, perlite, charcoal, or other media to adjust moisture retention and soil structure.
• Easy to Use: Compressed coconut husk for plants is convenient to use, store and carry. Soak one brick in warm water—it will quickly expand to 5-7 times its original volume. Stirring can help speed up the expansion process. Natural coconut husk may vary in chip and fiber texture, so larger pieces can be broken apart by hand as needed. The coco chip for plants helps maintain a loose structure after soaking, reducing the need for frequent refreshes when used and cared for properly.
• Versatile for Plants & Terrariums: Our coconut chip bricks can be used as orchid potting mix, houseplant substrate, soil conditioner, mulch for landscaping, hydroponic growing media, and raised bed amendment. They are also suitable for reptile terrarium bedding after soaking and rinsing. Works for orchids, flowers, vegetables, herbs, monsteras, hoyas, philodendron plants, and more. The natural brown texture also makes it a decorative top dressing for pots and planters.
